Supplying the correct air/fuel ratio over a broad range of flow is the job of any carburetor. It is not nearly as precise as electronic fuel injection,..but surprisingly, NOT less powerful than similar sized throttle bodies. Use fuel injection where possible. Original equipment carburetors are set for stock motors and low emissions, not performance. The goal of any carburetor modification is to improve throttle response, power, and function at all speeds, and accomodate other performance modifications. There are many ways to do this, all of which require an intimate knowledge of the various circuits. We can blueprint, bore, hone, polish, and add additional fuel circuits, like a Thunderjet, to any carburetor. This is another area where the inexperienced can cause damage, or more commonly,..loss of power.
